I Will Keep My Campaign Focused On the Issues

This week my opponent held a press conference to attack me and distort my record in the Legislature. I’m extremely disappointed about this tactic. I had hoped that all the candidates would be able to run positive, issue-driven campaigns and focus on the problems facing Lincoln rather than descending to the lowest common denominator in an effort to be elected at any cost.

I’d like to say a few words about my legislative record: I’m proud that I was able to represent the interests of the people of my district, of Lincoln, and of the state as whole. I was a leader in the Legislature and was there when tough decisions needed to be made. I always fought for sensible tax reform, but never supported political gimmicks at the expense of our state’s fiscal well-being. I’m proud of my record and the work that I was able to accomplish. It is because of all I was able to accomplish in the Legislature that I know I will be the Mayor Lincoln needs.

Since I embarked on this campaign, I have talked about my vision for the strong leadership that Lincoln so desperately needs. I have proposed many specific plans about fixing City Hall so Lincoln can focus on developing the right way. I will continue to run a campaign focused on the issues because I truly believe that is what the citizens of Lincoln want.
