It’s time to restore confidence in city government first. He vowed not to increase the property tax rate in 2007 said he’d cut expenses in order to balance the city’s budget. He said it’s time to end the city’s “duct-taped budgeting” process and cut long-term spending in order to right-size city government.

Chris Beutler, who is also running for mayor, said he’s glad to see the three council members proposing a panel similar to the economic policy council he proposed a couple of weeks ago, but he said it’s a little late.
